Is CGTV Fake? It’s easy for people on the Internet to spread lies and rumors about businesses, especially when they hide behind a computer screen. For CGTV, we have had our fair share of slanderous reviews and allegations of being a “fake” talent agency. CGTV is NOT fake, NOT a scam, and NOT trying to trick young actors. We truly do help actors by providing them with the education and tools they need to have a career in music and television.

The people who try to discredit CGTV are often parents who can’t pay for the program or don’t want to pay for it. None of our bad press comes from kids who have attended our CGTV program. The bad reviews are from parents who have not had their kids attend a program. At CGTV, we deliver exactly what is promised for a fee including training with experienced actors, professional headshots and reels, and exposure to legitimate agents in the entertainment industry.

Still think CGTV is fake? Here’s a real life example! Jax is a young actor who trained with Adrian R’Mante and CGTV. Recently, Jax starred in a Walmart commercial that was viewed almost 12 million times! Jax was able to secure an agent through CGTV and started working as an actor almost immediately following our program. CGTV hosts auditions in cities around the globe and the CGTV reviews coming in from our child and young adult actors are nothing short of amazing.  One of the cities we routinely visit is Honolulu, Hawaii.  This is exactly where we found one of the brightest stars to graduate CGTV and The Celebrity Experience.

Leah’s aunt heard an audition for CGTV and The Celebrity Experience on the radio in Honolulu.  Her aunt sent her mother the recording and urged her to take her daughter to this audition.

Because Zeah participated in both TCE Jan 2016 and CGTV July 2016, I decided to pull your questions from FB and answer them like this…hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need any clarification.  Zeah was excited beyond belief.  Leah’s mom did not know what to expect. The only required preparation was to print a headshot and be prepared to audition.

Zeah was nervous and excited to meet and audition for one of her favorite Disney stars, Adrian R’Mante, Esteban, from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.  She says that Adrian made her instantly comfortable and she knew that she did her best and it was all she could do.  She wasn’t sure if she would get a call back, but she knew that she could not have done any better, so she was proud of her efforts.

When Zeah found out she was indeed called back to be a part of Adrian’s program, she was screaming and excited beyond belief.  Her parents were excited but they wanted to wait to see what it was all about before making a final decision.  They were excited to hear what Adrian had to say at the callback orientation.

As parents, they decided to invest in Adrian’s program because they believed in his mission and vision. Zeah’s parents knew that his program included a training curriculum that would support their daughters aspirations of becoming an actor. They could see that the training would also contribute to their daughters development as a life long learner, individual, and contributing member of our community and world.

We asked Zeah what her favorite part about CGTV’s acting program was.  She replied,

“I loved meeting and training with all the Celebrities, playing all the improv games, and I was really excited when we got to meet and talk to Debby Ryan who played Jessie!”.

When we asked Zeah’s parents what they loved best about CGTV they replied as follows, “As parents, we appreciated the experiences, skills, training, networking, and performance opportunities (Showcase, Universal Sound Studio Scene Recording with a Celebrity, LIVE performance and the ACME theatre in Hollywood) with TCE & CGTV. We greatly appreciated the parent workshops/Q&A sessions because it gave us great insights to the industry and the profession of acting. The professionals that Adrian invited to speak to us were well accomplished professionals who were honest and transparent with us. Lisa London, Joey Paul Jensen, and Philip Marcus came from different perspectives with a vast amount of experience.”

Zeah was pretty nervous about performing LIVE at the ACME theatre in front of the Hollywood agents and Hollywood managers, but with the help of Adrian, her scene partner and a week’s worth of intensive coaching, she nailed it.  Even mom could not spare a tear that evening.  She had never been so proud and she realized there were going to be many more successes to come in Zeah’s future.

Zeah received one callback from a Manager during The Celebrity Experience.  Then,  at CGTV, she received two callbacks from Agents and two callbacks from Managers.   Lisa London said that her performance showed that she is ready to book jobs!  Coming from the casting director that found Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Anniston and more, this was a huge nod that we were in the right place with the right people.

When asked what the #1 thing she learned from Adrian she replied, “eye contact”.

Zeah’s mom asked if she could add some final words to this story, and they are so beautiful we decided to include them.

“As a family, Adrian has done countless things for us. If I had to choose just ONE thing to highlight, the #1 thing that Adrian has done for us is to stay true to his word. From the first day we met, Adrian committed to our daughter and her aspirations of becoming a successful actor. In our last blog, you learned about the success of one of our graduates, Zeah. CGTV Grad Is Sponsored to attend!

This is a follow up on her continued success and is surely a great article for anyone scouring the internet for CGTV reviews.

When we returned from TCE, I took 3 days to read Lisa London’s book, “From Start to Stardom” that we purchased at the event.  I took every step in her book and began taking action.  (She has founded many of Hollywood’s finest and hottest celebrities) While waiting for our demo reel to be edited, I created a sponsorship letter to local businesses and organizations to seek out donors to sponsor Zeah’s participation in the program – for simplicity, I will quote some info from the letter so you can see what our mission and purpose was:

“On January 12, 2016, Zeah received an exclusive invitation to attend the CGTV Pilot Program Training in Universal City, California.  This is an elite program offered only once a year, and Zeah is one of 30 children invited to participate in this accelerated, 4 week training program.

We have less than 2 weeks to raise $9,500 for program expenses and travel & housing accommodations, which will allow Zeah onsite private acting training with active, practicing celebrities, auditions for 2016 Pilot Season for Film & Television in Hollywood, California, exposure and opportunities with more industry professionals, and more.

We are considering creative ways to raise funds for this exclusive opportunity for our daughter. If you, or any organization or company you know, are willing to sponsor Zeah’s next step in her personal & career development, she will in exchange, create a unique promotion or commercial for your organization and/or company.

Mahalo for your consideration to help Zeah “Live Her Dreams”  to be on TV and to be an inspiration for keiki here in Hawaii, and around the world.”

As a result, Zeah received some donations, as well as one offer of sponsorship – which created the opportunity for her to work on her first paid commercial project.  She was assigned to write, produce, and film a commercial for Dr. Aki Oshita, Gonstead Chiropractor and owner of Cornerstone Community Chiropractic.  Here’s the final product that Dr. Aki used on his Facebook page to promote his practice, and Zeah’s passion for acting.

While we did not meet the fundraising goal to return to LA for CGTV Pilot Program in February 2016 it did not shake Zeah.  Rather, it refocused her and her determination increased.  The program had PREPARED her for rejection.

Toward the end of February we received the TCE demo reels recorded at Universals Sound Studio so I was able to submit Zeah’s complete package to our local talent agencies.  I submitted her package to 4 agencies, 2 of which were SAG-AFTRA franchised.  Both SAG-AFTRA franchise agencies replied to schedule a meeting with us to meet Zeah and to go over their expectations as an agency.  Following meeting with ADR Agency, they were interested in representing her.  After researching the 2 SAG-AFTRA franchised companies in Hawaii, and meeting personally with Talent Agent Ryan Brown, Zeah signed with ADR Agency. That same week, prior to signing with ADR, we self submitted to Hawaii Actors Network (HAN) for the lead role in “Yes Mama”.  This was Zeah’s first audition in our local market place and she used the skills she learned from TCE and Adrian’s CGTV training videos to prepare for this audition.  Additionally, I recorded one of Zeah’s rehearsals and sent it to Adrian for his feedback.  He offered some suggestions for improvement, Zeah made the adjustments, and she did an amazing job at her audition.  The first audition resulted in a callback and a second audition which eventually lead to Zeah being offered the lead role of “Millie” in the Hawaii Student Short Film Project, “Yes Mama”.  The Director envisions this film in 2017 film festivals – we are really excited for that and pray that things line up. CGTV Grad Is Sponsored to attend!

Prior to filming, we had 2 weeks of rehearsals which was a very interesting and a great learning experience for our entire family.  Filming took 4 days and it was an amazing experience for Zeah.  As parents, we literally watched our daughter mature over the two weeks of filming.  Her commitment to the project was amazing (for lack of a better term).  This was a student film so there was only one camera, one sound person, and they filmed on location – which resulted in many many many retakes because of sound quality and/or noise from the environment (ambulances, planes, dogs barking, neighbors talking….hahahaha…you catch my drift). On the final day, as we left location – and the last day was a very long day, I asked Zeah how she felt.  To my surprise, she responded with “I LOVE ACTING!!!  WHEN CAN I DO ANOTHER MOVIE???”  I expected her to tell me it was too much work, or it was too hard, or something to that effect – but her response demonstrated that acting is truly her passion and that the amount of work that is required to complete a project will not stop her from reaching beyond the stars. CGTV Grad Is Sponsored to attend!

In April 2016, Zeah was formally invited by BNI KOA Chapter in Ewa Beach, Hawaii to be their ‘youngest entrepreneur’.  Zeah attended their new member orientation and instantly connected with many businessmen and businesswomen there.  She shared a 20 second overview of who she is and her goals and aspirations in life.  The members were very supportive and impressed by her poise and ability to know what she wants and to go after it at such a young age.  Zeah intends on joining the BNI KOA Chapter as soon as she can create opportunities to pay for her annual membership.

In June 2016, Dr. Aki at Cornerstone Community Chiropractic offered Zeah another paid project opportunity – to create an educational video teaching about Gonstead Chiropractic Care and the correlation of proper adjustments, appropriate home care, and overall health.  Rather than it being an advertisement for his practice, he wants Zeah to create this video to teach about Gonstead Chiropractic Care as a whole to share with his colleagues and the Gonstead Community.  Zeah accepted this opportunity and we are hoping to complete this project by the end of the year.  She has to do extensive research before she can write and produce this project.

Following Zeah’s participation with CGTV summer program 2016, we made a family decision to follow up with callbacks and book appointments with the Agents and Managers who showed interest in representing Zeah.  We knew that a lot of sacrifice and much transition was necessary in order to take the next BIG step in Zeah’s pursuits so we hosted a “Zeah’s Journey To The Big Screen” fundraiser in August 2016.  This fundraiser was a great success and gave us an edge to commit to returning to LA for 3-4 months.  On September 1, 2016 we brought Zeah to LA and are currently learning, experiencing, auditioning, building networks, attending classes, making friends, acclimating to the “home away from home” that we are creating for Zeah.  It’s definitely a JOURNEY and we are so grateful to have the opportunities, network, and support we have gained through our participation with TCE and CGTV!!!  Our family has grown so much over the past year because of our TCE ohana & CGTV ohana!!! Is CGTV real? Parents love to see their kids reach their full potential. We would argue that nearly every parent’s desire is to support their children as they seek to live out their passions. At CGTV we are honored to be a part of this journey for parents whose children are gifted in the dramatic arts. Every year we meet thousands of parents and kids seeking tools to help them hone their craft and move their talents to the next level. One question we hear repeatedly from parents (and kids) is “does your program actually work.” While we whole-heartedly know that our program is successful on its own merits, we believe that it is better to hear a couple stories from the bright and talented kids who have been a part of our program:  

Jenae McFarland 

Jenae attended the CGTV program in June of 2015. In her words, it was one of the “best decisions I have made in my life.” After being professionally packaged, she was able to perform in front of over 15 Hollywood agents. You read that right, she received over 15 callbacks!

MacKenzie Dunne

MacKenzie attending CGTV’s summer programming. After her experience, she was offered work almost immediately. Her biggest role is Shelby on Best Friends Whenever on the Disney Channel. MacKenzie’s parents credit the CGTV program with helping open up the doors to many great opportunities.

These are just two in thousands of success stories from CGTV grads. Part of the reason our graduates realize such great success is that we don’t forget about them once they leave our programs. We are consistent in following through to ensure that they are staying the course to reach their dreams.

Lance Freeman

This is the story of one of our graduate’s of last January’s VIP program.  Lance Freeman had an energy that we could see from a mile away.  He wasn’t sure if he had what it took for Hollywood, but he saw this as a chance to chance his dream.  With hard work and an open mind, Lance amazed himself by securing a Hollywood Agent call back after our live showcase at ACME Theatre.  The following is his story.  For anyone scouring the internet for CGTV Reviews and wanting to know if CGTV is a scam or not, take the time to read the story of people that have actually been through our program.  That is the truth in advertising. The Celebrity Experience. 

Why I Decided to Train with CGTV and The Celebrity Experience?

“I really wasn’t nervous about auditioning for CGTV, I saw this as my chance to chase a dream. I prepared mainly by watching movies. I wanted to see how they performed with cameras and each other.

When I arrived at the event I learned that Geno Segers was my celebrity host, I wasn’t nervous, I saw this all as a potential possibility. I knew I would be okay whether I made it into the program or not. Finally my turn to audition came around. I felt relaxed in the room with Geno and he gave amazing advice once I was finished. I followed it and repeated the monologue, I thought I did pretty good afterwards honestly.

CGTV & The Celebrity Experience

After hours of waiting I was thankful that I was selected, and proud of myself for taking advantage of the unique learning experience that was to come. My family felt the same. I knew from past experience that there were a lot of talent agencies that scam you for money, but the program seemed legit and I took a leap of faith. I was scheduled to go for the showcase that would perform in January, and decided to go with the V.I.P package. I am now definitely thankful that I did.

One of my favorite parts of the training was all the information we got from the celebrity hosts that were attending. They gave us advice on our performances, told us the in’s and outs of the industry, and revealed what they had to personally go through to get where they are today. It was really awesome to see from their point of view and to get to hear about what it is really like for them past the lights and cameras.

The showcase finally came around after days of rigorous training and memorization. Utilizing and applying all the notes given to me made my live performance real and moving. It flowed nicely thanks to advice and preparation from the CGTV staff and the actors who took time out of their lives to help us reach for the stars. Following the showcase I received a call back! They gave me advice on how to move forward with my acting. CGTV taught us the basics that everyone needs to know to get their careers started and off the ground. Remember to chase your dreams and that no matter what, with CGTV you will be put in front of agents.”

“I never got to go to CGTV,  I got a call back after auditioning with them but sadly I couldn’t afford it at the time. Adrian saw something in me and even though I couldn’t go to the showcase he helped me by messaging me on Facebook  and texting about working in the industry. He helped me in how I presented myself in the auditioning room and helped me make important in the moment decisions on how to make sure I always look my best and act professional. 

Whenever I had a question for him he would take time out of his day to reply. I haven’t even met him physically. I met Tanya when I auditioned in Philadelphia. But once I face-booked him about the program he was very easy to listen to in terms of how he explained what the industry was really like.

I recently got a role in the hit TV series The Blind Spot.  I got the audition through my manager and when I got there I was discouraged because the role called for a mixed Caucasian and Hispanic girl or “mixed” girl and I’m only African American. When I got there I was surrounded by girls who actually were what they asked for but I remembered the videos that I watched for CGTV and how to command the casting director’s attention by speaking first. Adrian even let me use him as an industry referral to get representation. In the beginning I would submit Adrian on everything I sent out. I emailed submissions all over and finally got a hit from Brilliant Talent Management which is bi coastal.

I’ve been in this industry since I was five so I was already held a lot of knowledge on the acting and filming industry.   But, Adrian broadened my horizons.  I am very thankful to Adrian he helped me and asked for absolutely nothing in return but for me to always do my best. He truly wants to help each and every aspiring actor, no matter the age or background, to follow their dreams and do what they love.”  – Gionna Bowman

CGTV is not a scam

Stepfather Proclaims CGTV is not a scam! Every now and then someone that has never experienced our program will say some silly things on the internet about our company.  The other day on our Facebook page, some teen was calling CGTV a scam.  One stepdad whom attended the January VIP program with his wife and daughter was very offended and this is what he had to say about CGTV being a scam. CGTV is not a scam.

Read below;

“CGTV is the furthest thing away from a scam you can find. Many complain about the price, but the way it was explained to me at the tryout, it is a small price to pay for an amazing program and opportunity. Both my wife and daughter attended CGTV and had an absolute blast in the process and got put in front of real, Hollywood agents and were given a real opportunity to get an agent.

The largest portion of the program is the week of preparation the participants receive before they get their shot in front of the scouts. They work with Disney stars and well-trained actors that teach them exactly what these talent seekers are looking for. You get a distinct advantage over the competition by learning from those that have already succeeded at where you want to go. After scenes have been practiced, edited, and finalized, My wife Gia and daughter Jenna were ready for the biggest auditions of their lives.

On the big night, all of the coaches showed up, rooting the kids and other participants on and going over last minute tips to keep their nerves calm. The level of professionalism was great to see, but what really confirmed that my money was well spent was when I walked into the stands of the venue to find around 50 agents seated and ready to take notes. We had gotten far more than what we had paid for and my girls were going to get their biggest opportunity of their lives.

After it was all said and done, neither my wife nor my daughter received an agent call back. This of course was disappointing to us, but what shocked me most was that Adrian R’Mante, the owner and director of the program, seemed the most upset! He said that we most certainly had to come back to the next audition, and that they could try out as many times as they like, it won’t cost them a dime.  Plus, rockstar casting director Lisa London whom cast stars like Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston and more in roles long before they were famous put my wife on the short list of actors she believes is ready for big screen casting! CGTV is not a scam!

In show business, there’s good reason to be wary of people who claim they can help you achieve your Hollywood dreams. There are a lot of scam artists and opportunists out there. Although it is wise to be wary and guarded, if you or your child have real talent and think you can make it in Hollywood, you can trust CGTV. There are talent programs out there that aren’t scams, and CGTV is one of them. A graduate of CGTV and a wonderful success story, RJ Cyler’s acting career is currently blowing up. He starred in the 2015 film (and Sundance darling) “Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl” as Earl, and was also cast as the Blue Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers film. We at CGTV could not be prouder of RJ Cyler!

Bex Taylor-Klaus

One of CGTV’s very own is a very successful television star. Bex is best known for her roles as Bullet on The Killing, Sin on Arrow, Lex on House of Lies, and is currently starring as Audrey Jensen on MTV’s Scream series, based off the popular horror films.

MacKenzie Dunne

MacKenzie was just 6 years old when she attended CGTV’s talent program in the summer of 2015. Now, she has a recurring role as young Shelby in the Disney Channel original series Best Friends Whenever. We can’t wait to see what else the future holds for MacKenzie!

Memorizing lines can be the most difficult part of acting.  It is probably the most daunting tasks asked of an actor or actress.  What if I told you there is way to make the memorization process just a little bit easier?  Here at Children in Film we thought of a few tips and tricks to help commit those lines to memory.  FOUR ways to help you memorize line.

Earlier in the year we wrote about an amazing talent we scouted in Arizona last October, Bailey Axen.  You can read his initial article by Clicking Here.  Bailey scored a multitude of offers from Hollywood Agents and Managers at his CGTV Live Performance showcase at the end of the training program.

After doing our homework, we decided on an agent and a manager from the CGTV Showcase evening.  Since then, Bailey has been on numerous auditions for feature films with A list Hollywood actors attached to them and for many commercials.  Bailey has auditioned for Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel.   Recently Bailey has been put on hold by a producer for a national television commercial and Lisa London, one of the most influential casting agents in Hollywood brought Bailey in to audition to play a young Adam Sandler in his new Netflix Movie.  Lisa London was an additional resource that Bailey picked up at CGTV.  Her book from Start to Stardom is a great tool and resource for anyone pursuing acting seriously.  

Bailey has quickly discovered that this profession is tough and requires patience, persistence and passion.  Acting is hard work and to be really great, you have to continue to improve by taking workshops, classes and hiring coaches that can help you grow and be competitive in the market place.  Just like an athlete or entrepreneur, an actor must put in the work to receive the rewards.  Even through rejection, Bailey keeps a smile is grateful for the opportunity and moves on to the next shot.  CGTV and Adrian R’Mante prepared him for this road, so it was not unfamiliar when he had to walk it alone.  

Stardom is rarely an overnight success!  Getting a reputable Hollywood Agent and Manager alone can take years and years of rejections.  CGTV took years of pursuit out of our equation and put Bailey directly in front of the talent agents and managers that could launch his career.  Now, it’s up to Bailey.  One thing that has been crucial is celebrating the wins.  Getting an audition is a win.  Getting a call back is another.  Being put on hold is a win.  Booking the job is the prize and it’s not easy.  But when you love acting as much as Bailey does, you pursue your dream relentlessly with all of your heart.  

Bailey is extremely grateful and feels very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with Adrian R’Mante and CGTV and feels he received the tools he needed to start him down his true career path.  Bailey has booked his first TV role, 6 months after graduating from CGTV.  He is guest starring on an episode of Adam Ruins Everything called Adam Ruins the Wild West! 

Pilot season is just around the corner and Bailey is super excited for the calls he expects to receive from his agent and manager.

CGTV Graduate books national commercial! One of the things we tell our graduates is that this business requires you to be able to process rejection like a pro, be persistent and keep going. The truth is, 99% of actors are rejected way more than they win roles. So the most crucial part is persistence. Levi Daniels has become an expert on persistence and handling rejection. And now, he is an expert on how to land a national television commercial spot, the bread and butter of almost every actor’s life. Don’t take our word. Listen to Levi’s success story here.

Levi had heard about CGTV while submitting to acting classes online in attempts to find a good school to get his name, face and talent into the arena. He received an email from CGTV asking him to join an audition in his city. He was nervous and excited at the prospect of auditioning for a major Disney star. He prepared and he practiced his sample commercial to the point that he could let it roll off his tongue like second nature.

The day of the audition I felt I was more than prepared. He was told that I would be auditioning with someone that was on a Disney show, but he did not recognize the man in the room that he auditioned for. (Probably the beard!). That was great, because it helped calm his nerves. Later, he found out it was Jonathan Goldstein, the dad from Josh and Drake and let out a “whooooooa”.

As he left, he felt confident that he did his best but as usual was prepared to not get his hopes too high. That no matter what the result of THIS audition was, he would continue to pursue his Hollywood dreams. When he received the phone call later that night that he was one of only a few dozen out of a room of hundreds selected, he was stoked! He immediately thought “I will have to figure out how to balance this with my day job as an investment banker!”

That didn’t last long. He decided to give up his six figure career and pursue his dream and put all of his chips on the table. He received world class acting training at CGTV with Adrian R’Mante and his star studded cast. The final night at ACME theatre would prove to be a bit nerve wracking. Having just put his entire career on the line for his dream, what if he did NOT receive a call back from a Hollywood Agent at this live performance?

Levi received a call back from a well reputed Hollywood Talent agency. While he did not wind up signing with them, he continued to pursue his talents and has just recently scored a nationally televised commercial, the meat and potatoes of the acting industry. He credits his wins to working with Adrian, even after hours. Levi says that Adrian has always made time for him, always been there for him and continues to be his mentor outside of the program.

1. I heard about CGTV because I was submitting online for acting classes trying to find a good school to get my name and face out there. CGTV emailed me.

2. I was a little nervous, more excited than anything. I prepared for my CGTV audition by practicing my commercial to the point I could say it like it was second nature.

3. I performed in front of Jonathan Goldstein. I wasn’t nervous in front of him because I didn’t recognize him haha. After the fact when I realized who it was I literally went “woooooooh”.

4. I didn’t want to get my hopes up so I just said to myself “keep on keeping on” and if the call you go for it.

5. I was stoked! I was also trying to figure out how I was going to balance this week intensive and keep my job as an investment banker.

6. I’ve always wanted to pursue acting and realized life is to short to not chase your dreams. I ended up quitting my job that was making close to six figures and put all of my chips on the table for my dream.

7. The hands-on training from celebs in the game already. Who better to learn from than the people who are successful in the industry.

8. I was very nervous for my performance at ACME. I’ve done auditions before but never a live stage performance. I invited a bunch of people because I didn’t think very many could make it that night. (they all came) haha

9. I received a callback from Maverick Artists Group. They didn’t end up signing me but it was good in the long run to get those at bats in!

10. Adrian until this day will respond to any questions I have or if I’m just nervous for a big audition will give me advice to calm me down. Great mentor and friend.

11. Life is to short and nobody is promised tomorrow. Go chase your dream no matter what that dream may be!!!

Finding a breakout role as an actor takes persistence. We know just how many hours of training, practice, marketing, and auditioning go into getting that casting call. That’s why, here at CGTV, we love to spotlight our graduates’ success stories. This month, we highlight a very talented rising star and CGTV graduate, Jackson Robert Scott.

How did Jackson Get His Start?

Jackson attended CGTV program from the age of 5 learning the craft of acting. He worked with actors from Nickleodeon and Disney as well as Adrian, the founder of CGTV. His favorite class was Improvizational Workshop.

It was a beneficial program and a start and foundation of his love for acting. It was such a positive experience for Jackson that he fell in love with acting and decided to make it his focus activity.

He was discovered by a top agency and manager from Los Angeles. The opportunities that he was given were amazing. He was able to audition for a multitude of projects on TV and film. His first project was a commercial for K Jewelers, followed by an episode of Criminal Minds, and Stephen King’s It remake where he will be playing the role of Georgie. Despite the fact that it is a horror film he had a great and positive experience on the set. Jackson really enjoyed being a part of this project. It was a team effort and he enjoying being a part of a team to enjoy something exciting and special for everyone to enjoy when it comes out in the theaters.

The tools that he has acquired during his time with CGTV and working on set will be useful in any career path that he decides to follow in the future.

Breakout Role: Criminal Minds

Jackson Robert Scott got his breakout role in 2015 on Criminal Minds, a prime time American TV series. Criminal Minds is a fast-paced crime drama about an elite squad of FBI agents who try to outsmart some of the nation’s most dangerous criminals before their next move. Scott was cast on Season 11’s fourth episode, Outlaw, as Cole Vasquez. The episode aired on October 21, 2015.     

What is Jackson Robert Scott up to now?

Scott has been keeping busy in Hollywood! This past year, he was cast in the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s famous horror novel, It. Many know the story It as the original terrifying “clown” tale. Scott plays the role of Georgie, the younger brother of the story’s main character, who is the touchstone and starting point of the whole plot. It is now in post-production, and is scheduled to come out this upcoming year, in 2017. We will be watching for Jackson Robert Scott as soon as it hits the theaters!  

By all accounts, this is an up-and-coming young actor to watch! Stay tuned: We’re sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Jackson Robert Scott in the future!

Becoming an actor involves talent – but hard work, persistence, and industry knowledge are what moves talent into the spotlight. Although the road to being a professional actor can be long, if you have a positive attitude towards learning as much as possible, meeting new people, and loving what you do, the journey itself will often be filled with joyful moments and triumphs.

Perfecting Your Craft: Never stop learning

Actors and actresses work at expanding their skills, whether they are still waiting for their breakout role or have won multiple awards. One of the challenges (and benefits) of being an actor is that there is always something new to learn or improve upon. Whether you try your hand at improvisational acting, take voice lessons, or give a new type of theater a shot, just about anything you learn will come in handy at some point in your career. Taking summer acting courses, attending acting camps and auditioning are all learning experiences that also give you the opportunity to network with others in the industry.

Networking: Industry connections matter

Acting is a tough road to try to go alone. Making connections with other actors, mentors, agents, and teachers increases your knowledge of the industry, betters your craft, and boosts your chances of being put in touch with a high-quality agent or casting call. Just about everyone in the acting industry has worked hard to get where they are and has wisdom and experience to share.

Persistence Pays: Prepare for hard work and, yes, some rejection

Actors and actresses face rejection, no matter where they are in their career. Whether an agent says “no” to representing you or you’re turned down for a part, perseverance provides an actor with the will to move on and try again. The best way to become an actor is to keep acting, perfect your craft, and avoid becoming discouraged. Good actors treat each professional experience as a learning opportunity, knowing that their love for acting does not hinge on getting one particular role or landing a specific agent, but knowing that the next opportunity for success deserves their best shot.

Agents are busy people in an already fast-paced industry. They work tirelessly to get their existing clients in roles and scout for new talent at the same time. While finding an agent takes time and effort, they hold the keys to the acting industry and are an important component of just about any actor’s career.

Network

Cold submissions to agents are rarely successful. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t send inquiries to your dream agencies. However, more importantly, cultivate contacts and connections within the industry. Many agents take interest in talent they hear about from trusted professionals and acquaintances in the field or from existing clients. Politely ask your friends, colleagues, and mentors who know agents for references, and to pass on your information too.

Do Your Research

Take the time to learn about which acting agencies are reputable and have a lot of client success. Find agencies that fit where you are in your career. Pay careful attention to professional standards in the industry about how to approach agents at events and on social media. The last thing you want to do is come off as an amateur or ruin your chances from the get-go. The agent-rep relationship is highly personalized and finding the right “fit” for your career, goals, and personality makes it work. Work, Work, Work

In spite of how busy agents are, they are also constantly on the lookout for new talent. It is, after all, how they stay in business! The best way to catch an agent’s eye is to keep perfecting your skills, and most importantly, keep acting. Agents not only attend tryouts and plays, they watch films and other videos, and frequent events where they keep an ear to the ground for new names. The more you put yourself out there, the more exposure you receive. The more exposure, the more people hear and talk about you. When you’re not on the set or taking classes, work on getting headshots, keeping an up-to-date presence on social media, and improving your website and resume.

CGTV creates real success stories, and our alumni are proof of that. CGTV alum Bex Taylor-Klaus was interviewed by Collider after scoring her “big break” role of Bullet for the AMC series The Killing. Collider asked Bex if she remembered the moment she found out she had gotten the role.

Bex said, “I remember that moment. I recently got asked what the best moment of my life was, and the first thing that popped into my head was getting the phone call from my agent.”

All aspiring actors hope to recall a moment like this. Another CGTV alum, RJ Cyler, has found fame starring in the new Power Rangers movie as the Blue Ranger. His first big break, though, was a smaller-budget indie film that became a Sundance darling, called “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.” RJ played the titular Earl, who together with his co-worker befriend a classmate who has been diagnosed with cancer. RJ has said that the role of Earl has opened up many more opportunities for him, and was quoted as saying in an interview with Collider, “This is like the perfect launchpad for my career … now it’s only up and up.” A first acting gig is not only exciting for the actor who secures the role, but potentially life-changing as well.

Adrian R’Mante, co-founder of CGTV and long-time working actor in Hollywood, gained his footing in show business when he received a scholarship to the theater program at the University of Central Florida-Orlando. Adrian had the fortunate opportunity to work with some of the top-acting professionals in the country. During his training, he worked on Nickelodeon’s Gamelab, Slimetime Live, and the prestigious Orlando Shakespeare Festival. Adrian eventually decided it was time to move to Hollywood and live out his dream in television and film. After arriving in Hollywood, Adrian landed a co-starring role on the TV show Profiler. From here, Adrian met casting director Anthony Barneo who became the reason Adrian is where he is today. Adrian’s biggest and most recognized role to date is that of Esteban Julio Ricardo Montoya Dela Rosa Ramirez from the mega hit Disney Channel television show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
